Day 5: September 19, 2024 (A Day in North Berwick)
(by Lena & Kate) Today Ms Hänggi and Ms Ruf took us on a day trip to North Berwick. Early as the birds, at 06:45, the first people started to wake up and get ready. With pressure from Ms Ruf and Ms Hänggi, exceptionally, everyone managed to be on time today. We arrived at the train station and took the train to North Berwick. After a short walk we arrived at the beach. When Rebecca spotted the toy buckets she hurriedly filled it with sand and constructed a gorgeous sandcastle while others filled their pockets with pretty shells from the beach. After our arrival a nice lady named Charlotte greeted us. In the first part of our program we were given a lot of information about marine life. Everyone was thrilled about discovering these creatures. In our wellies –or as some very creative ones among us-in their water shoes, we waddled to the rock pools the tide had revealed and started searching for crabs, sea stars, snails, anemones and little fish.
